Thamesbrook was established in 2003 by Susan Blacker to bring together her activities in the world of fine art and antiques under one banner. Having bought and sold antiques since the nineteen seventies, and qualified as a professional valuer in the nineteen eighties, she has knowledge and experience, but also many ideas about placing antique and older pieces in a way that would suit modern taste in collecting and decorating.

Susan deals in large and small antique furniture, antique pictures, English porcelain, art pottery, unusual antique drinking glasses, Russian folk art (including Russian boxes) and equestrian sculpture plus many other items of fine art and antiques.

Thamesbrook does not specialise in a particular field, but we try to buy pieces which are aesthetically pleasing or of artistic or historical interest.

There is usually a good selection of decorative or usable glass and ceramic items in stock, and also pictures, sculpture, small furniture and works of art.

In 2004/5 Susan studied the Master's Programme in Art History and Connoisseurship with Christie's Education, achieving a Master of Philosophy degree from the University of Glasgow, which not only acted as a refresher course for a previous degree in Art History from East Anglia but also provided a new depth and breadth of interest.
